Overview
EV software for the smart cities of tomorrow
Pod Point is a company that believes travel should not harm the Earth. They have made it their mission to install a Pod Point everywhere people park, thus transforming the way people drive. However, as an innovative and future-led business in the EV space, finding and hiring the brightest technical minds to work on problems in a rapidly evolving industry can be a significant challenge.
Bond was tasked with finding the talent to scale Pod Point’s Salesforce, software development, and sales teams. The goal was to recruit niche skill sets in a growing business that encourages the adoption of clean transport.
The Challenge:
To attract the talent required to scale within software, Salesforce, and sales, Bond implemented a headhunting approach to the passive market. A six-month project saw Bond implement a team of two to create a proactive approach to Pod Point’s recruitment. Working alongside their existing team in our embedded partnership approach, we were able to identify areas of improvement and help implement changes to drive better outcomes.
Our approach:
A 6-month project saw Bond implement a team of 2 to create a proactive approach to Podpoint’s recruitment. Working alongside their existing team in our embedded partnership approach we were able to identify areas of improvement and help implement changes to drive better outcomes.
We began by identifying the need to understand the proposition, which involved training for the Pod Point culture interviews. We then began market mapping untapped talent pools to open up access to talent. We knew how great working at Pod Point was, but the market was not aware.
Taking the value proposition to previously untapped markets to find and attract future Pod Point employees was a very successful way of engaging a talent pool that previously wouldn’t have applied or known who we were. This resulted in high submission-to-interview ratios, successful growth of the divisions, and a quicker, more efficient candidate journey.
The impact:
The impact of this innovative hiring process was significant. Over a six-month period, 17 offers were extended, resulting in 10 hires. Bond delivered 12 pieces of project work, resulting in market intelligence and competitor analysis, DE&I strategies, salary insights, proactive sourcing training, and opening new routes to market.
Bond’s approach to hiring has revolutionized Pod Point’s adoption of electric vehicles and their mission to change the way people drive. By utilizing a headhunting approach and implementing changes to the recruitment process, Bond was able to find and attract top talent that aligned with Pod Point’s mission and culture, resulting in significant growth and success for the company.
Testimonial
“I’ve really enjoyed working with the team – they made a big effort to learn about Pod Point from the get go. Not just the business, product and roles but just as importantly; the mission and culture which is so important to all of us Pod Pointers.
For their first 3 months or so with me, they worked with my tech recruitment team on a variety of senior and hard to fill tech roles. They built good relationships with the stakeholders, represented the brand well in the market and made good progress on the hiring plan. For the second half of their time with me, they worked on Sales and Ops roles which they picked up just as quickly – as well as getting involved in some process and project work with the wider team.
Day to day it was easy to forget they were embedded with us and not a ‘normal’ Pod Pointer, they got on well with everyone else in the team, stakeholders and the wider business.”
