Building a true talent partnership for a pan-European GTM launch
Podero, an Austrian-based remote-first SaaS start-up in the energy optimisation space, had just secured a €5M pre-seed investment and needed to move fast. With an ambitious B2B2C GTM strategy spanning five EU countries, they turned to Bond to help them scale.
Initially scoped for three months and extended to four, this partnership would go beyond delivery. Bond was embedded as a strategic talent partner, identifying and improving key recruitment infrastructure to support Podero’s high-growth trajectory.



The Challange
Podero needed to hire across multiple disciplines and seniorities – Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and GTM – across Austria, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. The challenge wasn’t just sourcing and securing top talent in competitive markets; it was doing so while building internal processes and infrastructure that would be scalable.
At the start of the partnership, Podero’s hiring approach reflected the typical pace and challenges of an early-stage start-up. With rapid growth and multiple markets in play, their recruitment process had grown organically. Key operational tools, such as an ATS and structured onboarding, were still in early use, presenting an opportunity to build a more streamlined and scalable approach.
Our Approach
While we were initially brought in to deliver on hiring, it quickly became clear that process transformation would be key to success. Using insights gathered from interviews, candidate feedback, and our 5 stage talent internal audit, Bond proposed a set of immediate interventions to streamline hiring and lay the foundational talent infrastructure.
Key initiatives included:
- Reducing the interview process from five to three stages, cutting average time-to-hire to just 25 days
- Building structured candidate packs to ensure a consistent and compelling narrative
- Running full salary reviews and benchmarking exercises to support competitive and transparent offers across markets
- Implementing a refined onboarding process for smoother transitions
- Delivering Bond’s 5-stage Talent Theory Audit to identify and close gaps in the hiring lifecycle
- Supporting ATS adoption and implementation to increase visibility and coordination
Results
Across 4 months, Bond made 12 offers and secured 8 hires, covering multiple markets and roles, from senior commercial leads to internal operational talent.
