The Dublin based business, &Open launched in 2017, with their B2B gifting platform. The scalable technology gifts everyone from individuals to groups to entire communities with physical, digital and cause gifts to build brand loyalty and engagement. Their technology makes gifting an easy and seamless task for global companies and teams of all types with cliental including Airbnb, Peloton, Spotify and more.
The business has expanded rapidly, and has presence in Ireland, the UK and the US and plans to open an office in New York! In June 2022, the business raised more funding, and in August the business was in contact with Bond to support their people growth plans.
The Bond team were tasked with supporting the business with the placement of technical roles including product marketing, engineering and data analysts and non-technical roles from financial accountancy, growth marketing and HR management. The business had previous relied on external agencies or referrals to fill roles, but with limited capacity to manage this efficiently the Bond team were quickly onboarded to provide on-demand support.
With no dedicated in-house team for hiring, there was also a lack of process when it came to CV processing via their ATS, their interview process, screening, and reporting. The business also had challenges with organising interviews with hiring managers in different countries.
The focus for Bond was to support the &Open team with not only filling the roles, but also to support with defining a new process to improve consistency across the hiring process for technical and non-technical roles
Getting more from the ATS:
To effectively hire, and retain candidates, Bond started work on a number of projects alongside candidate searches to improve overall process and to redefine the hiring plan. The project work would not only benefit &Open in the future but would also support Bond and the hiring team to successfully fill the current roles.
The ATS in place was previously not being utilised to support the business and the candidate hiring journey. Bond were able to quickly implement a new ATS process to provide a candidate workflow provide reports, support the interview process, and also integrated Calendly (to book hiring managers in other locations). In addition, the new process centralised all documentation for future use, including email templates for hiring managers. The use of scorecards and weekly performance reports was also introduced to keep the team on track!
Bond provided an engineering market report and salary insights which kept the &Open team up to date with changes in the market and competitors.
